i found a blackberry nugget.

i have been thinking of switching back to a nugget phone for a while, but no nugget has been suitable. sure i have my nugget phone (the xiaomi nugget), but it's pretty much just a smaller and slower phone than my current one. oh and the battery life is basically non-existent.

so this blackberry (a blackberry 9780) is what i am going to try and revive. it's in good condition, except for that big black (i'm going to get canceled am i) spot on the screen there. i mean it is better than the other blackberry nuggets that i have, one with missing buttons, and one that doesn't even want to finish its boot sequence.

i've put my sim card in it. there isn't a data plan since blackberry nuggets need a blackberry-specific data plan, and those don't exist anymore.

thankfully, the basic stuff works. calls, texts, media, all that. i can put audio and video files on here, since it can use usb mass storage (remember when that was a thing?).

now i haven't completed the ritual yet, i just found this nugget a couple hours ago (from the time of writing). i feel this is going to be more of an improvised dedicated podcast player than anything else, since nobody really uses regular phone calls and SMS here. so it won't be a full replacement, i still need to tow my main phone around. but it can be a nugget to turn to when i just want to throw my phone under the couch to disconnect from the internet.
