after changing OSes (now crDroid) on my phone (again), it showed me a fun button.
it said 'Smart Pixels'. curious, i smashed that button. it then turned off at least half of the total amount of pixels on my (AMOLED) screen.
how it does this is it draws a layer (a mesh if you will) of black dots scattered across the screen, which turns off the pixels of an AMOLED screen.

it actually is pretty effective. i noticed the battery usage going down, with the screen battery usage no longer the highest on the battery usage list.

the screen looks crappier though. no longer smooth. and i like it. it gives it this old terrible lcd screen kind of vibe to it. in fact, it just improves the aesthetic that the NothingDot font provides (which is the font used by the Nothing Phone (1)).
